What to do while you wait
A few quick actions can dramatically limit the damage before we arrive. First, find your internal stopcock (usually under the kitchen sink or where the water enters the house) and turn it off to stop the flow. If water is near electrics, turn off the electricity at the consumer unit. Then move valuables away from the water and, if it's safe, catch drips in buckets.
